Ok, here’s a little test:

What do you see?

  Do you see the busted cane back, the pepto bismol paint job, and the shiny pumpkin colored seat?

Or….Do you see past the ugly outfit to see the potential in this chair?  Do you see the curves and the details and what she could be?

{ After }

  After a coat of white spray primer, 2 coats of Behr “Black Suede” in a Satin finish, and heavy distressing by hand with 80 grit sandpaper.  The caning was removed, and gorgeous fabric from Hobby Lobby was stapled into place and covered with trim.  This chair took about 3 hours of work~ and my daughter LOVES it as her new vanity chair.

   Look around your house & garage- see the potential in every piece… What can you transform today?

    I have a rocking chair that belonged to my grandma that I’d like to transform…just lacking the upholstery confidence.

    I also have a dresser from when I was little that is SUPER dated that I’d like to give a black finish and put in my boys’ bedroom.

    It’s amazing how much money you can save by transforming what you already have…and even better, how custom you can make each piece!

    Thanks for sharing!

    How did you upholster the back? I have a few of these chairs and I LOVE what you have done with this one. Would you be willing to tell me step by step? The set I can do. I’m just not quite sure how to even start on the backing. lol.

    Thanks so much!
